Local Nets

Practice your communication skills and test your radios often by participating in Nets.  Or, take your skills to a new level and participate as Net Control.

Here is a list of nets that take place in Contra Costa County.


Countywide

  • The local RACES/ARES nets are held on Thursday nights.  After the local nets, there is a countywide net held on the WA6HAM linked system at 1920 hours.  The system is 147.735 (-) central and East, 145.41 (-) South and 145.49 (-) West county.  (All have pl 107.2)
  • There is the RACES/ARES HF net on the first Thursday of each month, at 8:00 pm.  The frequency is approximately 3.890 MHz and varies according to band use.
  • The Contra Costa Repeater Association net is held at 7:35 p.m. Mondays.  It features the Amateur Radio NEWSLINE program.

  • The Mt. Diablo Amateur Radio Club Net is held at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays.

  • The Northern California SATERN Net is held at 8:00 p.m. Mondays. More information available at www.SATERN.org.

Central County

  • The Central County RACES/ARES net is held at 1900 hours.

  • LARS Lafayette Amateur Radio Society - Thursday 7:05 pm (concurrent with RACES net).

East County

  • The East County RACES/ARES net is held at 1900 hours and is run concurrently with the Delta Amateur Radio Club net.

  • The South County RACES/ARES net is held at 1900 hours on the K6SRM repeater.

  • The West County RACES/ARES Net is held at 1845 hours on the WD6EZC repeater.

  • KARO/ECHO Net is held immediately after the West County RACES net.

  • Contra Costa Communications Club - The 4 C's net is 7:30 p.m. Thursdays.

High Frequency

  • The RACES/ARES High Frequency Net is held on the first Thursday of each month, at 8:00 pm.  The frequency is approximately 3.890 MHz and varies according to band use.

Other Nets

  • The Side Winders On Two Net is held on Thursday and Sunday nights at 8:00 pm, with early check-ins starting about 7:30 pm.

  • The 25-25 Net is held on Wednesday nights at 8:00 pm. The net is always held on a frequency of 144.230 MHz USB. The net duration is approximately 1 hour, and the format includes emergency traffic, general check-ins and ragchew.
